Something New...

Well, something "old" actually, but "new" to my blog!

I've been trying to decide what to do for my 1,000th post (which, in reality, may not happen this week! Boo!!)...and I realized that never before, in the history of this blog, have I done a "Ask Mama Anything" post!

So, let's do it. (And gosh...I hope I get more than one or two questions to answer!!)

Ask me anything...anything at all, and I will answer your questions on my 1,000th blog post! (And remember, your comments [i.e. your questions on this post] will count as entries in my Blogoversary giveaway!)

Okay, ask away!

  1. Have you always had such a good sense of humor? Does it run in your family or something? Cuz every time I read your posts I chuckle.

Are you a natural blonde? If so please don't get mad...but I sometimes laugh when I hear blonde jokes. (Forgive me!)

I cannot tell a joke if my life depended on it. I guess that's why I like funny people.

    Love you Mama M.

  3. I'm hoping to get accepted to a tough nursing program this coming fall. I'll be going to school, raising a 2 year old, and battling my firefighter husband's (24 hrs on, 24 hrs on call, 24 hrs off) schedule. Any advice? Any at all!?

  4. I struggle to find time to write my blog AND read all the blogs I follow - I only have 3 children.
I like writing and catching up reading my favourite blogs at night - it's quiet and peaceful (ok, not always, but usually)...but then I end up staying up too late. Which means *yawn* the following day. But I don't know when or how else I can squeeze it in.
How do you find time, with 5 kids, work and the home? Do you keep a strict schedule, or just when the inspiration strikes?

  5. I'm a LPN and I graduate in May from a RN program. I work in basic care right now but know I don't want to stay in this nursing setting forever. How did you know you wanted to work in an OB department and did you work on other floors before you worked there?

  6. I love your talkin' shop posts...(although, I could never in a million trillion years be in any type of medical profession...yikes!)...and I was wondering what your favorite thing about being an OB nurse is and what your least favorite thing is.

Come here looking for the tutorial? It can be found here:  Halo Braid Tutorial!  Let me know how it goes! I had something in mind to try on Baby Girl's hair the other day...my best bud, Dr. J, did something similar to it on Belle once, and I was trying to replicate it. Instead, I got this: Isn't it pretty?! It didn't take nearly as long as it looks and isn't nearly as intricate as it looks! Vlog tutorial coming soon...(for those of you waiting, I'm sorry it's taking me so long!)

Halo Braid Tutorial!

How appropriate, "halo braid", no?! ;) Finally, I have this ready for you...I apologize for the delay! This braid looks intricate, but is really quite easy and quick to pull off...the original video (prior to the warp speed braiding...watch the video to see what I mean) was just a bit over 8 minutes long...not too shabby! So, here you go...right in time for you to try it out on your little girl for Easter!

Oh, hold it...wait just a sec (again)...actually, I got this recipe from Melissa...yes, the Melissa of this story ! And this story ...which, well...is the same story, just told two different ways! ;) So, you can thank her...I guess. Well, in any event...prepare your tastebuds to be tantalized! You'll need this: And, this: You'll also need chicken breasts or steak, but since photographing your "main ingredient" is, like, soooo passe, I've left it out.
